Dr.Besant school was established in 1975 by the towns physician Dr. M. Ram Mohan Rao. He wished to bring quality education to the quaint town of Vizianagaram. The school is eponymous of the Founders ideological guru Dr. Annie Besant with her philosophy.

The school’s philosophy is, “There is no religion higher than truth.” The school strives to inculcate and foster this maxim in every child who enters its threshold in search of learning, as the ultimate aim of any religion and education of any kind is to dispel ignorance in search of ‘truth’.

Nurtured by three generations, it has grown into one of the finest schools in the district. In a quiet locale , under a green canopy of trees amidst play grounds, the timeless stone building is a foundation for wholesome learning. In producing many leaders and awardees, well placed in prominent positions worldwide, the school always stood on the four core dimensions of learning.
